Terms of Use
Last updated August 2026
Improve Aged Care™ is operated by an Australian-registered business and provides online professional learning services to individuals and organisations, including in Australia and New Zealand.
These Terms of Use apply when you create an account, purchase or access learning, or otherwise use the Improve Aged Care™ learning platform (the Platform).
By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.
1.About Improve Aged Care™
Improve Aged Care™ provides professional learning and development for people working in aged care and related services.
Our Learning Blocks, programmes, pathways, activities, resources and certificates are designed to support professional development and workplace capability.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, completion of Improve Aged Care™ learning does not constitute a formal qualification, professional registration, licence to practise or accreditation by a regulatory authority.
Learners and organisations remain responsible for determining whether particular learning meets their professional, employment, regulatory or organisational requirements.
2.Your account
Your Improve Aged Care™ account is personal to you.
You must:
- provide accurate account information;
- keep your information reasonably up to date;
- keep your password and sign-in credentials secure;
- not allow another person to undertake learning using your account; and
- notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
You must not share, sell or transfer your account.
Your individual professional learning record remains associated with you even if your employment or organisation changes, subject to our Privacy Policy and data-retention requirements.
3.Acceptable use
You agree to use the Platform lawfully, professionally and for its intended purpose.
You must not:
- share account credentials or allow another person to complete learning or assessments on your behalf;
- falsely represent completion of learning;
- copy, reproduce, redistribute, publish, sell or commercially exploit Improve Aged Care™ learning content without permission;
- alter, falsify or misuse certificates or credentials;
- attempt to circumvent learning requirements, completion controls or assessment requirements;
- attempt to disrupt, interfere with, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the Platform or its systems;
- introduce malicious software or harmful material; or
- upload or submit material that is unlawful or infringes another person's rights.
We may restrict or suspend access where we reasonably believe these Terms have been seriously or repeatedly breached.
4.Learning and completion requirements
Learning Blocks may contain required content, interactions, activities, reflections, scenarios, knowledge checks or other completion requirements.
Where an activity is identified as required, it must be completed before the learner can progress or receive completion recognition.
Learners are responsible for completing their own learning honestly.
Improve Aged Care™ may withhold, revoke or correct a completion record or certificate where there is reasonable evidence that it was issued incorrectly, obtained through misuse of the Platform or does not accurately represent completion of the required learning.
5.Assessments
Where a Learning Block includes a Professional Knowledge Assessment, the required pass standard will be displayed as part of the learning.
Assessment results relate only to the Improve Aged Care™ learning activity undertaken. They do not independently establish professional competence, employment suitability or authority to undertake clinical practice.
6.Certificates and professional learning records
Certificates are issued personally to the learner who completes the applicable learning requirements.
Certificates may record information such as the learner's name, Learning Block or programme completed, completion or issue date, professional development hours and certificate number.
Certificates confirm completion of the identified Improve Aged Care™ learning. Unless expressly stated otherwise, they do not constitute a formal qualification, professional licence, registration or regulatory accreditation.
Learners may download and share their certificates with employers, professional bodies or others at their discretion.
Limited credential information may be retained after account closure where reasonably required for certificate verification, audit, regulatory or evidentiary purposes, as described in our Privacy Policy.
7.Individual purchases
Individual learners may purchase:
- a single Learning Block; or
- a complete programme or pathway where that purchase option is available.
The learning included in a purchase will be clearly identified before payment.
Prices and applicable taxes will be displayed or calculated as part of the purchase process.
Purchase of a single Learning Block provides access to that Learning Block for 12 months from the date of purchase.
Purchase of a complete programme or pathway provides access to that programme or pathway for 12 months from the date of purchase.
Expiry of content access does not remove certificates you have already earned or your completed professional learning record. Your certificates and completed learning record remain available to you in accordance with these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
8.Organisation licences
Organisations may purchase either:
- Selected Pathway Licence — access to ONE organisation pathway selected at purchase: the Foundation Programme; OR the RN Leadership Academy.
- Full Access Licence — access to BOTH organisation pathways: the Foundation Programme; AND the RN Leadership Academy.
Organisation licences may be offered on annual or monthly payment arrangements.
Monthly organisation licences automatically renew each month unless cancelled before the next billing date. Where a monthly licence is cancelled, the next renewal does not occur and access continues until the end of the current paid billing period.
Annual organisation licences automatically renew each year unless cancelled before the next renewal date. Where an annual licence is cancelled, the next renewal does not occur and access continues until the end of the current paid 12-month licence period.
The applicable facility, bed-capacity, site and other licence conditions are those specified for the licence purchased.
Organisation licences may only be used for the organisation, facility or facilities covered by that licence and must not be shared with unrelated organisations or facilities.
Enterprise arrangements may be subject to separately agreed commercial terms.
9.Organisation-provided and private learning
Where an organisation assigns, provides or funds learning, authorised organisation administrators may access relevant progress, completion and credential information for that organisation-provided learning.
Learning purchased or undertaken privately by an individual learner does not automatically become visible to an organisation merely because the learner is associated with it.
Learning associated with a previous organisation does not automatically become visible to a subsequent organisation.
Private reflections, Practice Commitments and Apply Tomorrow™ responses are not available to organisation administrators.
Further information is provided in our Privacy Policy.
10.Organisation administration and reporting
Organisation licences may include learner administration, learning assignment, completion monitoring, credential reporting, workforce learning analytics, reporting tools and other organisation-management functionality made available under the applicable licence.
Organisation administrators are responsible for using learner information accessed through the Platform only for legitimate organisational purposes and in accordance with applicable privacy, employment and other legal obligations.
Organisation administrators must not attempt to access learning or personal information that they are not authorised to view.
11.Prices, payments and taxes
Current prices are displayed before purchase.
Payments may be processed by a third-party payment provider.
Applicable taxes are displayed or calculated during the purchase process according to the purchaser's location, tax status and applicable law.
Where recurring organisation payments are offered, the price, billing frequency, renewal arrangements and applicable terms will be displayed before the organisation commits to the purchase.
We will not add undisclosed payment-processing or service fees after a price has been presented for purchase.
12.Cancellations and refunds
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, statutory right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
If Improve Aged Care™ learning or services fail to meet a guarantee or requirement that applies under relevant consumer law, you may be entitled to a remedy.
For individual purchases, we do not generally provide a refund simply because a learner changes their mind after purchasing learning, except where required by law.
A monthly organisation licence may be cancelled at any time before the next billing date. Cancellation prevents the next renewal, and access continues until the end of the current paid billing period.
An annual organisation licence may be cancelled at any time before the next renewal date. Cancellation prevents the next renewal, and access continues until the end of the current paid 12-month licence period.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. We do not provide prorated refunds for the remainder of a paid period, except where required by law.
13.Intellectual property
Improve Aged Care™ learning content, including Learning Blocks, programme materials, assessments, scenarios, graphics, templates, resources, platform content and branding, is owned by Improve Aged Care™ or used under licence.
Purchasing or receiving access to learning does not transfer ownership of that intellectual property.
You receive a limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to access and use the learning for its intended professional-development purpose.
You may download certificates and any resources expressly provided as downloadable materials.
You may not reproduce, distribute, sell, licence, publish or commercially exploit Improve Aged Care™ content without written permission.
14.Educational information and professional responsibility
Improve Aged Care™ learning is designed to support professional knowledge, capability and development.
Learning content is not a substitute for professional judgement, individual clinical assessment, employer requirements, current organisational procedures or advice from an appropriately qualified professional where required.
Healthcare and aged-care requirements may change. We take reasonable steps to maintain learning content, but learners and organisations remain responsible for working in accordance with current laws, professional standards and requirements applicable to their role and location.
15.Platform availability
We aim to provide a reliable and secure Platform, but uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed.
Access may occasionally be interrupted for maintenance, security updates, technical problems or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Where reasonably practicable, we will work to restore affected services promptly.
16.Suspension or termination
We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of:
- serious or repeated breaches of these Terms;
- fraudulent or unlawful activity;
- misuse of learning, assessments or credentials;
- security threats;
- non-payment of an applicable organisation licence; or
- circumstances where continued access would expose Improve Aged Care™, learners or others to material risk.
Where appropriate, we will provide reasonable notice and an opportunity to address the issue.
Suspension or termination does not remove any statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
17.Account closure
Learners may request closure of their account.
A 14-day cooling-off period applies before permanent closure, during which the closure request may be cancelled.
Account closure and data retention are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Limited completed-learning and credential records may be retained for up to seven years for verification, audit, regulatory and evidentiary purposes.
Learners should download certificates and professional learning records they wish to retain before permanent account closure.
18.Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Improve Aged Care™ is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising solely from use of, or inability to use, the Platform.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies liability, consumer guarantees or other rights where doing so would be unlawful.
In particular, nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude rights that may apply under the Australian Consumer Law, New Zealand consumer protection laws or other applicable legislation.
19.Changes to learning and the Platform
Improve Aged Care™ may update learning content, Platform functionality and features over time to maintain quality, accuracy, security or relevance.
We will not intentionally remove paid access in a manner inconsistent with the purchase terms that applied when access was obtained.
20.Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms where reasonably necessary because of changes to the Platform, our services, business requirements or applicable law.
Where a change materially affects existing users or paid access, we will take reasonable steps to notify affected users.
21.Governing law
These Terms are governed by applicable laws relevant to Improve Aged Care™ and the purchaser. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude mandatory rights or protections that apply in the country in which our services are lawfully supplied.
